Ausenco win BMA EPC contract

Ausneco has been nominated as preferred contractor for EPC works at one of BMA’s coal mines.

The approximately $33 million contract is for an 18 kilometre long distance tailings and return pipeline between the mine’s coal handling and processing plant and an in-pit storage facility.

Work is slated to be finished around late next year.

Ausenco CEO Zimi Meka said the nomination is down the company’s three decades in design and construction off long distance slurry pipelines.

“We look forward to finalising the contract and working with BMA on an innovative pipeline solution that will facilitate ongoing operations at the mine,” Meka said.

This latest award brings the contractor’s work on hand to $300 million.
