Ausdrill subsidiary African Mining Services (AMS) has signed a contract with Perseus Mining for added mining works at Ghana’s Edikan Gold Mine.
These including blasting, drilling, and load and haul operations at Perseus’ Esuajah North pits, which is expected to generate around $157 million in revenue over 42 months.
Equipment will come mainly from AMS’s existing fleet, reducing the need for significant investment in capital.
AMS will also employ up to 280 workers for the project.
Ron Sayers, Ausdrill’s managing director, said “AMS has been providing mining services to Perseus since 2011 and we are delighted to extend the relationship we have developed.”
Mining will begin in September.
