Ausdrill chairman and director Terry O’Connor will step down from his positions at the company in December.

O’Connor has been chairman and an independent director of the mining services company since 1993. His final day in these roles will be the company’s December board meeting, which is scheduled for December 6.

Deputy chairman Ian Cochrane, who joined Ausdrill in November 2015, will become the company’s new chairman.

Ausdrill managing director Ron Sayers thanked O’Connor for his loyal and dedicated service to the company.

“Terry has been an outstanding leader of our company for over two decades and has seen the Ausdrill group through some very challenging times as well as periods of growth and change,” Sayers said.

“He has made an enormous contribution at many levels and, on behalf of the Ausdrill board and all Ausdrill staff, we wish to thank him for his efforts over the years.”

O’Connor’s replacement, Cochrane, holds degrees in commerce and law. He was educated in South Africa and immigrated to Australia in 1986.
