Aurizon wins coal haulage contract

Aurizon has won renewals for its Dawson and Callide coal mine haulage contracts.

According to Aurizon, the new decade long performance based agreement is for coal haulage along the Moura rail corridor.

“These contestable volumes replace Aurizon’s existing contract servicing the Dawson and Callide mines, and the new contract is effective immediately.”

While no value was given on the current renegotiation of agreements, Aurizon’s executive vice president of commercial & marketing, Maruo Neves, explained the company “understands the challenges in the current market and Aurizon has worked hard to provide a competitive, flexible contract to meet Anglo American (and Dawson joint venture partner Mitsui’s) requirements”.
