Atlas Copco has agreed to acquire Australian mining services company, Rockdrill Services.
Melbourne-based Rockdrill, which also has services shops in Kalgoorlie and Townsville, develops, manufactures, services and repairs rock drills used for mining and rock excavation.
Rockdrill has 37 employees and recorded $14 million in revenue in the 2017 financial year. The Australian business will become part of the service division in Atlas Copco’s Mining and Rock Excavation Technique business area, which will be listed as Epiroc during 2018.
Atlas Copco’s Mining and Rock Excavation president Helena Hedblom commented: “The competent team at Rockdrill Services Australia will be crucial as we expand our presence in Australia and further increase productivity for our customers.”
The acquisition is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018.
