A FLEET of non-underground articulated dump trucks is undergoing performance assessment at Mt Wright gold mine to determine suitability for underground operation.
Three modified AH500 (45-tonne) articulated dumpers, are being assessed during the mine’s development stage.
The assessment program will determine if the lower purchase and operating costs on non-underground trucks offsets the potentially longer life but higher operating costs of underground haul trucks.
The truck is powered by a 382 kW (512hp) Mercedes turbo-diesel, and has a rated payload of 45,400 kg.
