Aqulia Resources has announced the signing of a rail agreement with QR National, for its Washpool Coal project.
The rail agreement is a ten year contract for the transportation of up to 1.6 million tonnes annually of coal from the Washpool hard coking coal project to the Wiggins Island coal export terminal at the Port of Gladstone.
This latest contract complements other recent infrastructure agreements signed by Washpool, which include the Wiggins Island Rail Project deed for rail capacity with QR, and the Take or Pay contract for port capacity with Stage 1 of the terminal.
Washpool has also taken an additional one million tonne capacity with stage 2 of the terminal.
The rail agreement also has a provision for additional rail transport services to be provided once the port capacity is available.
