The Roy Hill project will come under further scrutiny after a lifting accident occurred while moving a heavy construction module yesterday.
The West Australian reported that no one was injured when one of the supporting jacks failed under load, however safety standards on site will remain in question.
Last month a ban on the use of cranes and lifting equipment was issued by the Department of Mines and Petroleum after a crane tipped over during a testing procedures.
Last year the site was issued with two prohibition notices in relations to cranes and elevated work platform incidents involving lead contractors Samsung C&T and Leighton Construction.
