A truck has spilled its ammonium nitrate load in Queensland.
Police say 36 tonnes of ammonium nitrate granules spilled when a white Freight Liner B-Double towing the load rolled approximately 42 kilometres north of Dingo at 5:36am yesterday morning, according to the CQ News.
Ammonium nitrate is a key ingredient in creating explosives.
Diesel fuel mixed quickly mixed with the blasting granules, and forced police to create a one kilometer cordon around the site.
Firefighters contained the leak, while the 40 year old driver was treated for minor injuries.
