AMEC, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, and Hyundai Rotem Company have been awarded the Early Contractor Involvement for Rex Minerals’ Hillside project.
According to AMEC the ECI Contract includes production of the project execution strategy, schedule and pricing for the main Engineering, Procurement and Construction works.
This isn’t the first time AMEC has worked with Rex, having previously carried out both its pre-feasibility and feasibility studies for the Hillside project.
AMEC vice president Asia Pacific, Garry Dryburgh, said “we look forward to working closely with Hyundai and our client in shaping what will be one of the largest copper projects to be developed in Australia”.
The project itself is located on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, and once completed will deliver an average of up to 100 000 tonnes of copper equivalent production per year over its 15 year plus mine life.
