A MINING products and services company has been awarded a $2.2 million grant from the Australian Government to develop a driver safety management system

A COMPANY specialising in mining products and services has been awarded a $2.2 million grant from the Australian Government to develop a driver safety management system.

The system is said to minimise fatigue related incidents using vehicle, driver, and biometric indicators to give an early warning of driver fatigue.

The early warning system can be used for heavy earthmoving and light service vehicles.

The system also includes a personnel communication device that is said to provide increased safety for personnel working alone in remote areas of the mine.
