190 New Jobs Promised in SA

WPG Resources has promised 190 new mining jobs as part of its iron ore project near Cooper Pedy.

WPG Resources has promised 190 new mining jobs as part of its iron ore project near Cooper Pedy.
Located about 90 kilometres south-east of Cooper Pedy, the open cut mine is expected to export up to four million tonnes of iron ore annually.
Following South Australian government approval, the Peculiar Knob project is expected to begin production early next year.
Executive Chairman Bob Duffin says the project will be good news for the area.
"It’s a very exciting time for our company, a very exciting time for the region," he said.
"It will generate a lot of jobs for that region south of Coober Pedy.
"It will generate jobs in Port Pirie itself and during the construction phase there will also be some jobs created."
The ore will be shipped from its loading facility in Port Pirie.
