Newcastle Port welcomes new lease

CBH Resources’ wholly owned subsidiary, Carrington Facilities, and the Newcastle Port Corporation have agreed on a new 30 year lease for the Concentrates Shiploader at Carrington, Newcastle.

Newcastle Port Corporation has welcomed the lease agreement with CBH Resources Ltd’s subsidiary, Carrington Facilities as a sign of confidence in the diversity and future of the port.

CEO, Gary Webb, said Newcastle Port Corporation had a good working relationship with CBH Resources and that the new lease extended an already long term association with a valued port user.

“About 380,000 tonnes of copper and zinc concentrates are handled by the loader each year to represent one of the major commodities traded through the port,” Webb said.

“Negotiations for the new lease were designed around improved productivity and efficiency of one of the port’s major infrastructure assets which has long term benefits for the economy of the Hunter Region.”
