New financial chief for Hawsons Iron

Hawsons Iron has announced the appointment of Richard Stephens as company secretary and chief financial officer (CFO).

The appointment follows the resignation of Greg Khan from the role, effective February 7.

His replacement, Stephens, is a chartered accountant, as well as an experienced CFO and company secretary. Stephens has worked with the CFO Centre Australia for several years, as well as a non-executive director at HRL.

The new CFO has over 30 years’ experience in financial and management accounting, as well as auditing and financial reporting. Stephens is also a certified chair with the Advisory Board Centre.

Hawsons has engaged Stephens as the sole company secretary and representative responsible for communication with the ASX on a part-time basis, until future activity levels warrant a permanent full-time position.

Hawsons will be looking to capitalise on Stephen’s expertise as it continues to focus on developing its flagship Hawsons Iron project near Broken Hill, NSW. The ASX-listed developer is looking to turn the project into a premium provider of high-quality iron ore products for the global steel industry.

According to Hawsons, the project showed that it is capable of producing the world’s highest‐grade iron product, making it among the world’s leading undeveloped high‐quality iron ore concentrate and pellet feed projects.

The board and management of Hawsons have thanked former CFO Khan for his valuable contribution to the company during the past 19 months.
