The 6th Annual Australian Mining Prospect Awards is currently calling for nominations.
The Awards program recognises excellence in mining, mine management and mine safety across an array of categories.
Last year, McArthur River Mine won the prestigious ‘Mine of the Year’ award for quadrupling their Indigenous participation and meeting their other KPI’s on time and under budget.
Australian Mining editor Daniel Hall told MINING DAILY that the awards program gave businesses the recognition they deserved.
“Given the importance of reputation in the mining industry, the Prospect Awards are a great way to validate your innovation, hard work and success,” Hall said.
“Last year we had over 110 entrants vying for one of the 14 coveted awards. The panel of judges were suitably impressed with the tenacity and dedication displayed by every single finalist.
“The global financial downturn has meant many mining companies are not enjoying the same boom as last year, however, the Australian mining industry continues to power ahead of its global counterparts in R&D and environmental management. The Prospect Awards is a great way for companies to show the industry on a national platform that they are able to weather the storm and come out the other end more productive and better than ever.”
