Adding to its existing pump repair facility, Motion has broadened its service offering to include engineering, fluid power, drive line and on-site capabilities to ensure customers in one of Australia’s foremost mining towns are supported.
The investment into Mackay comes off the back of increased customer demand for more personalised services and Motion’s desire to “keep industry moving forward” said Motion national manager mechanical seals and pumps, Lance Brett.
“Mackay is one of Australia’s mining hubs and adding pump repair to our existing Mackay facility broadens our service offering not only for our existing customers, but for opportunities to gain new customers and some extra market share in a very competitive and mature environment,” Brett said.
“We will be offering a much wider range of combined services than other providers, recognising the evolving needs of our customers.”
According to Brett, this investment shows customers that Motion is committed to helping increase their plant uptime.
“In my opinion, we’re leading from the front, because we’re recognising these needs and can cater to them,” he said. “Our offering in terms of services, expertise, parts and other industrial products is unrivalled.”
While the Motion Mackay facility has acted as a one-stop shop for drilling rig undercarriage repairs and assembly, rotary drill head refurbs, along with screw compressor refurbs and supply, the service has been greatly extended by adding a pump repair workshop that offers various machining, cleaning and testing services.
Additionally, there is a dedicated mechanical seal repair facility proposed at the same site.
