Monadelphous scores big on Shell FLNG

Monadelphous has landed one of the best maintenance contracts in Australian LNG, looking after Shell Australia’s Prelude FLNG project.

The contract for maintenance and brownfield modification and turnaround services is worth $200 million, and runs for seven years with two 2-year extension options.

The contract applies to LNG process plant, support utilities, hull and non-process infrastructure, accommodation and control rooms.

Monadelphous managing director Rob Villetri said the company’s goal was to become the partner of choice in the provision of Floating LNG services.

“We are especially pleased to be selected by Shell Australia as a major service provider for the Prelude FLNG facility,” he said.

“This contract is of significant strategic importance to Mondadelphous.

“Our successful history of delivering maintenance services to LNG facilities around Australia demonstrates our leadership in oil and gas maintenance and our capability to deliver a diverse range of operations and maintenance services for both onshore and offshore facilities.”

Shell Australia general manager David Bird said the new FLNG deal was a “significant strategic contract”.

“We look forward to working with Monadelphous who, like Shell, is committed to working with local communities in Broome, Darwin and Perth, as well as engaging Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and businesses,” Bird said.

The Shell Prelude FLNG plant will be located in the Browse Basin, 475 kilometres north-west of Broome in Western Australia.
