MinRes expands childcare services for employees

Mineral Resources (MinRes) has announced that construction of its daycare centre for its employees’ children is going strong.

The major miner also said refurbishment of the existing building is on track for completion by the end of 2024.

The daycare centre will be located next door to MinRes’ headquarters in Osborne Park, Western Australia and will be open from Monday to Friday.

Once constructed, the centre will operate at a capacity of 104 children aged five and under. It will cost $20 per day for a child to stay at the facility.

The centre will also offer school holiday services to cater to children up to 12 years old.

The new daycare centre is an extension of the childcare services MinRes provides to its employees, with the company already operating a creche for young children in its Osborne Park office.

“We want to deliver the industry’s best employee experience by investing in initiatives that prioritise quality, convenience and wellbeing,” MinRes general manager strategic assets Myles Schammer said.

“Our daycare will be another step forward, providing our employees with a safe, nurturing location where their children will be supported by qualified professionals.”

To run the daycare centre, MinRes will recruit a group of qualified educators to develop and implement an early learning curriculum. MinRes said the children staying in the daycare centre will have access to the same services and amenities as the creche next door.
