With the annual Surat Basin Energy and Mining Expo starting tomorrow, coordinators believe the two-day event will bring $6 million into the economy.
Australian Events director Bob Carroll said more than 500 exhibitors are showcasing their services and products at the expo.
“We have exhibitors from around Australia and from overseas attending this year,” Carroll said.
“Already 3000 people have pre-registered online. Those numbers are up substantially from last year.
“We expect more than 7000 people will attend the expo over the two days.”
Carroll said exhibitors can use the expo to show the prospects in the energy and resources sector, The Chronicle reported.
“There is nothing like this event in Australia. It is about showcasing the numerous opportunities in the sectors for both businesses and individuals.”
Attending the expo will be Queensland Minister for Natural Resources and Mines Andrew Cripps. He will then give a keynote speech at the Industry Forum at the City Golf Club in Toowoomba.
The expo will be held at the Toowoomba Showgrounds.
