Metso has officially signed a three-year contract to supply metallic liners for BHP’s Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO) operations.
The deal will see Metso deliver a range of wear liner products, including its high-performance XAlloy metallic liners and cast wear solutions, as part of its chute lining offering.
“We are strongly focused on delivering better overall efficiency and productivity for our customer operations,” Metso director of chute and conveyor solutions Tobias Krull said.
“With our extensive offering in chute liner designs, backed by decades of experience and innovation, we can deliver greater uptime, and safer, quicker maintenance for our customers.
“This contract further solidifies Metso’s position as a trusted solutions provider within the mining industry.”
Metso’s chute lining solutions are widely known for helping reduce equipment downtime and supporting higher throughput and productivity.
Its XAlloy wear liners are produced using advanced welding methods that apply a chromium carbide-rich material onto a mild steel base, creating durable and reliable performance in demanding conditions.
Metso also delivers tailored liner designs to suit specific mining applications, maintaining a strong focus on safety, performance and longevity.
The company’s Australian operations include foundry capabilities and facilities for producing rubber and Poly-Met components.
It also boasts a substantial network of service centres across the country, including its flagship facility in Karratha, WA, the largest Metso service centre in the world.
This local manufacturing and service presence enables Metso to efficiently support its customers at the heart of key mining regions.
