AN AUSTRALIAN magnetic separation provider has moved to a new facility that will triple production capacity of its range of magnetic separation equipment.
The new premises in Melbourne will allow the company to focus on new areas of separation technology including X-Ray and sensor-based technology for advanced recycling and mining solutions, Steinert Sturton-Gill Magnetics sales manager Charles Winum told Australian Mining.
“The Melbourne plant is an extension of the commitment that was made four years ago when the company Steinert in Germany bought out Sturton-Gill Engineering of Australia,” Winum said.
The company now has two large independently operating cranes, and additional space required to store the large size magnetic separators and recycling equipment that the company produces.
“The new plant will respond in a more timely fashion to the demand for the magnetic equipment,” he said.
The Melbourne operation will allow Australian staff to conduct onsite testing of customer’s materials for selection confirmation and is now the Mining Technology Centre for the entire organisation.
The company, which has been known for the last 35 years as a dominant supplier of magnetic equipment to the mining industry, was formed through the Steinert GmbH acquisition of Sturton-Gill Engineering.
