MACMAHON Holdings has announced that it is Queensland Rail’s (QR) preferred alliance contractor for the Jilalan Rail Yard Upgrade Project.
The Jilalan Yard is part of the Goonyella system for coal trains operating to the Hay Point and Dalrymple Bay ports.
The aim of the project, due for completion in late 2009, is to increase the Goonyella coal rail network’s capacity. Macmahon and MVM Rail (a subsidiary of Macmahon) will provide civil construction services Macmahon says is worth an estimated $250 million.
