Komatsu debuts new wheel loaders

Komatsu has introduced its new WA700-8 wheel loaders, offering improvements in performance, efficiency and operator comfort.

Compared to the previous WA700-3 model, the WA700-8 delivers up to eight per cent more gross power and 15 per cent more torque, a six per cent increase in lifting force, and up to eight per cent more fuel efficiency.

“The new WA700-8 can help quarry operations hit that sweet spot for 70-tonne truck loading, making every pass count,” Komatsu product manager Sebastian Witkowski said.

Key features of the WA700-8 include a comfortable cabin with technology designed to reduce operator fatigue during long shifts, an automatic digging system and semi-automatic dump systems.

According to Komatsu, the semi-automatic approach and semi-automatic dump systems are particularly beneficial for operators who are less experienced, helping to close skills gaps and enhance overall efficiency.

The WA700-8 also stands out on challenging terrain, with the variable traction control system helping to prevent tyre slippage, ultimately prolonging tyre life and improving safety in wet or slippery conditions.

A modulated clutch system offers operators precise control for smooth transitions between forward and reverse, and an available KomVision camera system provides operators with a comprehensive view of their surroundings.

“With a heavier operating weight, greater static tipping load and larger breakout force than the previous model, the WA700-8 is a productive and efficient wheel loader that is ideal for quarry operations,” Witkowski said.
