Hancock Prospecting will return as the national presenting partner of the National Bush Summit, continuing its support for regional Australia and the industries that drive it.
The summit, to be held in Dubbo, New South Wales, from August 26–27, brings together leaders from mining, agriculture, business and government to discuss the future of regional and rural Australia.
The Prime Minster, Federal Opposition Leader, and state and territory leaders are expected to attend the event.
Hancock Agriculture and St. Kidman & Co chief executive officer (CEO) Adam Giles said regional Australia must remain at the centre of national conversations.
“The National Bush Summit matters because it gives the bush a national platform at a time when regional Australia urgently needs to be heard,” he said.
Mining and agriculture are expected to feature prominently throughout the two-day event, with discussions focused on strengthening regional economies and supporting the industries that underpin them.
“If we want young Australians to make their lives in the regions, we need to make it easier to run businesses there, justify investing there, be able to employ people and be able to see a future in the bush,” Giles said.
Hancock executive chairman Gina Rinehart said regional industries remain critical to Australia’s future.
“The people in the bush keep food on our tables, and help to keep our country running,” she said.
Hancock is also backing News Corp’s Future Series – a long-running advocacy program that convenes political, business, and community leaders to discuss economic growth, innovation and local liveability – in Cairns, Townsville and the Northern Territory in the lead-up to the National Bush Summit.
