CANADIAN technology supplier MicroMentis has launched a new ground imaging system.
The Surface Wave Intelligent Profiling System (SWIPS) was launched at the Asia-Pacific International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) event in Sydney.
SWIPS is said to allow users to visualise, analyse and model the physical and mechanical properties of solids in a non-destructive manner.
SWIPS creates textured 3D images of solid matter, revealing rock profiles, mineral deposits, and underground gas pockets, according to the company.
The system comprises 16 wireless sensors, an impact generator, and a user interface which incorporates software for earth analysis and modelling.
