Snow leopard rescued from Chinese coal mine [video]

An endangered snow leopard has been rescued after it became trapped in a coal mine in China.

Frontier guards working in the country’s north west region managed to save the animal after it became trapped in the mine’s drainage tank, according to The Guardian.

Rescuers managed to retrieve the animal using net after they found it struggling in the coal mine’s half full drainage tank.

It is believed the leopard was searching for food on the site.
