Larson Electronics releases explosion proof fluorescent ultraviolet lights

Larson Electronics has launched a new explosion proof T6 rated UV fluorescent light fixture for hazardous environments.

Larson’s new EPL-24-2L-UV-EYM-15C-EPP is a U.S./Canada U.L. approved Class 1 Division 1, Class 2 Division 1 & 2 explosion proof UV fluorescent light fixture, using a special ballast and bulb combination to produce ultraviolet light.

Emitting light in the ultraviolet spectrum, the new fixtures measure two feet in length and feature two lamps with their compact design ideal for use in space-constrained applications.

Supplied made to order, the EPL-24-2L-UV-EYM-15C-EPP can be configured to produce UVA, UVB or UVC light, based on the specific needs.

The lamp provides operators in hazardous locations with a compact, reliable and affordable UV lighting solution that combines effective production of UV light with explosion proof protection.

Key features of the new UV fluorescent lights include heat and impact resistant Pyrex tubes providing protection; copper-free aluminium alloy construction; heavy gauge extruded aluminium reflectors with high gloss reflective finish resisting dents and corrosion; operable in voltage range of 120V-277V 50/60Hz; U.L. approved for use in paint spray booths; bracket end mounting and pendant mounting options available with additional mounting configurations customised to meet application; fixture supplied completely assembled and lamped to reduce installation time and cost; and over-sized, finned ballast housing for 800 mA fixtures providing more heat dissipation and extending ballast life.
