Help make NSW the number one state for resources

The Department of Regional New South Wales (NSW) is looking for an executive director with industry experience to lead the geological survey.

The Department of Regional NSW recently welcomed Georgina Beattie as the new Deputy Secretary for Mining, Exploration and Geoscience who brings with her an energised vision for NSW resources especially in critical minerals, hi tech metals and gas.

“Investors know NSW is open for business and I look forward to leading our efforts to attract more investment to NSW, further strengthening our strong and vibrant resources sector and delivering the economic benefits to people right across the state,” Beattie said.

After listening to industry’s needs, a number of improvements to customer service delivery are underway including the recent establishment of an Industry Development team to promote NSW as the number one destination for mining investment and grow critical minerals opportunities in exploration, mining and the broader supply chain.

Crucial to the success of the vision is the geological survey. The Department is recruiting for the position of Executive Director, geological survey. This is a critical role leading the NSW Government’s work to identify high quality geoscientific data to support mineral and petroleum exploration and investment in regional NSW and to increase the profile of NSW resource potential. The Department is seeking applicants who are high performing senior executives with considerable experience in the resources industry.
