AIMEX to focus on innovation

With cost cutting rampant throughout the industry, and efficiency and productivity the new bywords, AIMEX will highlight mining's latest innovations.

According to Paul Baker, exhibition director at AIMEX's organiser Reed Mining Events, this year’s exhibition will have a greater focus on products and services, showcasing the latest mining technology innovations aimed at increasing productivity and reducing mining costs.

“The mining industry is going through a very rapid rate of change, and is seeking innovative products and solutions that will enhance operations,” Baker said.

“In the two years since our last AIMEX, the industry has also really focused on productivity and efficiency, particularly with the recent volatility in resources prices globally, and the need to reduce costs.

“In response to this, the emphasis among exhibitors and displays at AIMEX 2013 will be all about innovation; how the very latest processes, systems, services and products can meet miners’ demands for productivity and efficiency gains.”

He went on to state that some of those exhibiting at the event include "suppliers of large items of capital equipment, such as ultra-class dump trucks, underground loaders and trucks, longwall equipment and drill rigs, through to processing equipment and systems, as well as training, safety and information management solutions".
