The list of finalists for the 2018 Queensland Mining Awards has been released, with winners to be announced at the event in Mackay on July 25.
The list of finalists ranges from small, locally owned companies such as QCCS and HMA Wear Solutions, to mid-tiers such as Coxons Group through to mining majors such as Downer, Rio Tinto and Anglo American.
The judges for the awards takes in a bevy of industry leaders such as Peter Kane, chief operating officer, QCoal Group; Dan Kadziela, head of business development, Minerals Australia, BHP; Ian Rees, chief advisor and integrated planning, Rio Tinto Aluminium; Michael Jones, production manager, Jellinbah Resources; Heidi Cooper, group manager, government relations and public policy, Origin Energy; and Suzanne Mitchell, regional practice manager, EconomX.
Category winners and the 2018 Queensland Mining Contractor of the Year will be announced at the event. The full list of finalists is as follows:
