Clean coal progress

The Queensland Government has announced funding commitment for the State’s first low-emission coal-based power generation project .

The $200 million CS Energy Oxyfuel retrofit at the Callide A Power Station has progressed through feasibility, and front end engineering design is now in its final stage.

Detailed joint venture agreements and plant supply contracts are now expected to be finalised by the industry and government consortium by the end of this year.

The coal industry’s COAL21 Fund has partly funded the project

Other major funding partners included CS Energy and its project partners, the Queensland Government and the Commonwealth Government through the Low Emission Technology Demonstration Fund.
