Barminco wins contract renewal at Dugald

Barminco has won a five-year contract extension at MMG’s Dugald River zinc project worth up to $270 million.

The contractor has been operating at the project north of Cloncurry since 2012, with their current contract put to the market when its term ended.

They will provide a full suite of services, focusing on development in the near term.

Barminco CEO Peter Stokes said, “We look forward to further developing the Dugald River mine for MMG, which adds to the underground mining services we have been performing at MMG’s Rosebery mine for a decade,” in a report by the West Australian.

This comes on the back of Barminco winning a three year $275 million contract to provide a full suite of underground mining services at the Kundana gold mines in WA, with an additional two year option.
