AUSTRALIAN Mining has launched a vertical website – www.miningaustralia.com.au – complementing the print product with frequent news and dynamic media that only the online space can offer.
Brand editor Jamie Wade said the long awaited move was a tremendous boost for the magazine and timely considering the magazine celebrates its centenary next year.
He emphasized that content would be more than simply articles from the magazine.
“The site is not just about ‘lifting and shifting’ editorial from the print product, it’s about utilising the capabilities of online to the benefit of mining engineers and mining professionals,” he said.
“The site will not only deliver timely news relevant to mining engineers, it also offers information though dynamic and engaging media; a unique feature of the site is a Resource Centre that incorporates whitepapers, new and innovative products, video clips and podcasts.”
Miningaustralia.com.au will be updated with news daily, and a weekly e-newsletter will be distributed to subscribers.
The e-newsletters will be archived, as will content through an innovative system that catalogues articles under a ‘Topic Page’ based on assigned keywords.
Another key feature of the site is a polling facility on the home page that poses topical questions.
“This polling facility will act as a barometer on topical issues that can help shape the editorial agenda of Australian Mining,” Wade said.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) of www.miningaustralia.com.au will also improve the volume and quality of traffic to the site.
The site is a one-stop-shop for visitors seeking information on Australian Mining such as upcoming features, advertising rates and specifications, reader demographics, editorial and sales contacts and subscription links.
