Austin Engineering has begun a strategic support alliance with Mader Group for the inspection, maintenance and repair of its heavy mobile equipment in Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.
The alliance will work on a ‘tap-on, tap-off’ basis, according to Austin, which stated the goal was to ensure prompt and high-quality support for its customers.
Mader chief executive officer and managing director Justin Nuich said the alliance combined the best of Australia’s mining industry.
“A partnership between the largest independent provider of equipment maintenance services in Australia and the market leader in the design and manufacture of load and haul solutions is very exciting,” Nuich said.
“Working together, we plan to leverage synergies that will drive significant productivity and efficiency gains for both parties and our customers alike.”
Austin Engineering manufactures bespoke mining truck buckets, bodies and ancillary products such as the JEC and Westech brands.
Under the alliance, Austin’s service teams will continue their work across the Western Australian Gold Fields and Pilbara regions, plus Queensland and New South Wales.
Austin chief executive officer and managing director David Singleton said these usual arrangements were open to change if it became viable to integrate Mader into the on-site process.
“Austin’s leading engineering and design capabilities see it produce mining truck bodies and buckets for customers across all commodities and global geographies,” Singleton said.
“The agreement with Mader will support our existing services, initially in Australia, to ensure our customers are given the best quality support for our products.”
The alliance was well-timed for Mader, after Austin Engineering recently signed new supply contracts with NRW Holdings and Perenti Global.
These 27 truck bodies, five ore chutes and three water tanks were valued at $30 million and will likely provide trickle-down growth for Mader as maintenance comes into play in the future.
