David Grant has been appointed Trimble’s Regional Sales Manager Australasia for the Construction Division. In this role Grant will be responsible for all Construction Division sales in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. David served as an Account Executive selling ERP products and professional services.

IronClad Mining Limited has appointed Eric Hughes as Chief Financial Officer of the company which is responsible for the development and operation of the Wilcherry Hill crystalline magnetite deposits 30km north of Kimba, South Australia. Eric, a Bachelor of Business graduate from Curtin University, will be responsible for all financial reporting within IronClad and also for negotiating infrastructure and iron ore marketing contracts. The company has also appointed Andrew Bennett as exploration manager. Andrew joins IronClad from his previous position as Chief Geologist at BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam mine where he was responsible for all geological aspects of the Olympic Dam expansion. David Macoboy was recently appointed chairman of the company.

VDM Group has appointed Abraham Azzam as General Manager of its newly-formed Strategic Projects Business Unit. He will report to CEO John Farrell. The VDM Group, which includes extensive engineering consulting, construction and resources & infrastructure divisions is represented with Head Offices in Western Australia, regional offices in Queensland and overseas in the United Arab Emirates.

Kobelco CNH Australia (KCNHA) — distributor of CASE Construction and New Holland equipment has appointed Wayne Munce as brand manager for New Holland Construction while Mick Smith will move to the position of Brand Manager for CASE Construction.

Curtin University of Technology has appointed Professor Paul Dunn as Director of the Western Australian School of Mines (WASM). As Director of the School, Prof Dunn will be responsible for Curtin’s resources and minerals related research and education across Western Australia. Prof Dunn has held positions with the University of Queensland and taught at WASM from 1990 to 1993.

Sinclair Knight Merz has appointed Tim Boyle as global COO while Terry Petersen has been appointed new General Manager, Infrastructure with Graeme Booth replacing Petersen in the role of Regional Manager, New South Wales.

Jonathan Borthwick has been appointed as Komatsu Australia’s mining sales manager, East Coast, and is part of the company’s mining sectors marketing team, based at Komatsu Australia’s new mining HQ, which recently relocated to a dedicated new office at Eight Mile Plains, Brisbane. Reporting to Andrew Martin, Komatsu Australia’s General Manager, Mining, Borthwick is responsible for mining equipment sales for the entire East Coast of Australia, from Far North Queensland, the Bowen Basin and the Hunter Valley of NSW, to Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
