Another death in WA

The Western Australian Department of Mines and Petroleum has reported a death early Saturday morning in the State’s goldfields.

According to reports, the 26 year old worker died after falling into a large hole at Barrick Gold’s Kanowna Belle minesite near Kalgoorlie.

A spokesperson for the Department of Mines and Petroleum confirmed the death, telling MINING DAILY that inspectors were sent to the site as soon as the death was reported and an investigation is under way.

The man is the fourth person to die on a Western Australian minesite this year.
