An enterprising solution solving operational and efficiency challenges

When Minprovise product specialist Robert Arezio was asked to describe the Rice Lake Master 1280 Integrator, he didn’t hesitate.

“It’s a breeze to use,” he said. “It’s easy to program and deliberately designed to be user-friendly. The program layout and menu structure are highly intuitive, making the 1280 Enterprise simple to use.”

In modern mining, there are thousands of pieces of machinery on-site, each with an important role. The Rice Lake Master 1280 Enterprise Integrator stands out for its simplicity by design and included standard features.

This digital weight indicator and belt scale controller allows operators to see key information about their weigh systems at a glance.

“The best part is that the 1280 Integrator can be customised to meet the specific operational needs of a mine site. Whether it’s adjusting formulas, configuring timers, or controlling various functions within the system, the 1280 Enterprise offers unparalleled flexibility and control,” Robert said.

“The 1280 controller is also different from most of its competitors in that it includes a comprehensive set of features that are typically optional in other integrator controllers.”

The machine’s configuration isn’t the only thing that’s customisable. For sites looking to cut down on power use, the 1280 Enterprise can be set up to run on 240VAC or operate on 24VDC using a digitiser. It can even be configured to use the digitiser only to monitor the weigh system by connecting to the site DCS system and using a laptop connected to the digitiser.

A digitiser is a device that receives, processes, and digitises the signal from both the load cells and the speed sensor. This information is processed by the integrator to generate belt speed (meters/second), flow rate (TPH), and totalised tons.

“You can have one screen and numerous digitisers feeding into that screen simultaneously,” Robert said. “It can control up to eight scales at a time. Logistically, this can be challenging on some sites because the weighers are spread out. But with the 1280 and the use of a digitiser, it’s possible to monitor each individual weigher from a centralised location.”

Minprovise’s customers can opt to do their own customisations, or benefit from the extensive knowledge and experience of the Minprovise team.

“We work with the customer to understand their needs before setting the unit up,” Robert said. “We are always happy to go on-site to review and assist with any enquiry. We also offer after-delivery support and service to set up and calibrate the integrator. Minprovise is flexible in this regard and focused on helping our clients optimise their processing systems.”

Easy to program and with several communication options, Minprovise is proud to offer the 1280 Enterprise to the Australian market.

If positive feedback is anything to go by, Minprovise customers are loving it too.

“We have one customer in particular who told us that the 1280 was exactly what they needed,” Robert said. “From the bright touchscreen and customisation options to being able to tailor it to their specific requirements, they are extremely satisfied with the capabilities of the 1280.”

These capabilities aren’t just a perfect fit for mining operations either! The 1280 Enterprise can also be used in agriculture, quarries, and more.
