More than 600 delegates from across the globe have attended the Association of Mining and Exploration Companies’ (AMEC) fifth annual two-day National Mining Congress in Perth.
The conference, which runs today and tomorrow, provides attendees with the chance to share knowledge, plan for the future and take a little time out to celebrate the sector’s diversity and achievements.
AMEC Chief Executive Simon Bennison said the congress provided investors with commodity-specific showcases for Gold, Nickel, Iron Ore, Uranium and Copper.
There will be Exploration Exchanges with presentations from Geoscience Australia and Victoria, the Geological Surveys of Victoria, Western Australia, Tasmania and New South Wales as well as the CSIRO,” he said.
“Although global economic turmoil has created significant difficulties for many mining and exploration companies, there is no doubt that the industry’s famous fighting spirit will see it rise to the challenge.”
