Acceleration for innovators

A cohort of 20 leading innovators from across Australia has been chosen for this year’s QuantumTX National METS Ignited Accelerator program.

METS Ignited is an industry-led, government-funded industry growth centre for the mining equipment, technology and services sector.

The QuantumTX Program helps rapidly grow technology-centric small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) or scale-ups solve large challenges across multiple sectors that can benefit the minerals sector.

Selected through a competitive application process by industry experts from 79 applications, each business boasts potential global competitive advantage with existing innovative products.

METS Ignited chief executive officer Adrian Beer said the resources sector was transforming to meet society’s increasing demands for minerals and base metals to fuel the global energy transition.

“Environment, Social and Governance is the leading issue for operators, delivering resources in a sustainable manner. Solutions come from the rapid implementation and successful commercialisation of technologies,” he said.

“This accelerator supports innovative companies to scale their solutions, making them available for the entire market.”

Led by innovation specialists Atomic Sky, the program supports METS Ignited’s focus on commercialisation support pathways to technology innovators with solutions in robotics and automation, digital and data, and sustainability and responsible mining.

The QuantumTX program helps SMEs scale their businesses and solutions to create competitive potential exports.  They will receive introductions to large clients, mentoring, market engagement, profile raising, staff development, international readiness and introductions.

They will also engage with key representatives from companies such as Roy Hill, Rio Tinto, Fugro, QMetco, Nova Systems, MinEx CRC, Robotics Australia Group, Imvelo, Woodside Energy and others.
