A Super launch

Ford is set to launch the Ranger Super Duty in 2026, a game-changing mid-size ute engineered in Australia to meet the highly demanding needs of industries like mining.

Built to withstand the harshest conditions and demanding workloads, Ranger Super Duty delivers the power, payload and towing capacity needed to maximise productivity in mining operations.

It has been engineered and designed to deliver the higher levels of gross vehicle mass (GVM), gross combined mass (GCM), towing and enhanced off-road capability required by those who need it, including emergency service operators, farmers, utilities and forestry workers, miners, infrastructure technicians, and many more.

“Ranger Super Duty blends the smart features and advanced safety of our award-winning Ranger with heavy-duty capability and delivers what our buyers told us they needed but couldn’t get anywhere else,” Ford Motor Company general manager global truck Sondra Sutton Phung said.

“This work-ready vehicle will give owners the flexibility they need to get the big jobs done, with the confidence of a factory-backed warranty.”

The new model was developed by Ford’s IMG product development team, led by a 1500-strong group of designers, engineers and specialists in Australia, and will be manufactured in Thailand for sale in markets around the world.

Ranger Super Duty can:

  • tow more: 4500kg maximum braked towing capacity
  • carry more: 4500kg GVM
  • do more: 8000kg GCM

“Ranger Super Duty further strengthens our commercial vehicle portfolio, with an offering for all kinds of work,” Ford Australia and New Zealand president and chief executive officer Andrew Birkic said.

“As we move closer to launch, we will continue to work closely with fleets and vehicle modifiers across Australia to be sure that Ranger Super Duty does everything they expect it to, and so much more.”

Ranger Super Duty will allow mining operations workers to transport equipment and personnel without compromising performance or safety.
